Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for commissioning, installation and servicing the new Schneider machines for custom contact lens and intraocular lens production on a global basis.
  • Customer support with regard to all technical, quality and process aspects of the machinery
  • Liaising with Schneider specialist departments on machine optimization and product development
  • Enhancing Schneider’s internal knowledge in this key business sector including, internal knowledge and skill transfer
  • Liaising with the customer and Schneider internal departments to ensure satisfactory outcomes
  • Technical coordination and planning of machine commissioning with a distinct focus on training and customer support
  • CL & IOL quality aspects, including but not limited to lens geometries and surface inspection,
    Quality assurance and testing of contact lens machinery
  • Pilot operation tests and presentation of equipment
  • Independently commissioning, training and servicing of machines with a ‘hands-on’ approach
  • Machine acceptance testing of contact lens machines, including FAT & PDQ

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or relevant technical diploma / certificate
  • Experience in customer support
  • Knowledge of measurement and metrology devices for contact lenses or IOL inspection
  • Knowledge of trouble-shooting CNC machinery hardware and software functionality, physically and remotely
  • Fundamental knowledge of contact lens or IOL manufacturing processe
  • Analytical troubleshooting
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel globally
  • High degree of self-motivation to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Passion for computer technology and the latest production techniques for optical components
